The Evesham 30k is the second instalment of the FISS Road Race Series (RRS), held at Evesham VeloPark, Evesham FC ground.

Evesham is entirely unique, arguably the most interesting and versatile skating venue used by the Federation – and one of the most beautiful; not only is the surrounding local area of Worchestershire lovely, if the weather and time of year is right, the grassed areas of the track are covered in a blanket of red poppies. Skaters on different sections of the track winding past each other in opposite directions creates something of a spectacle.

Open to all skaters, Members and non members, elites and recreational/quad skaters, the event consists of a 100m sprint supporting race, followed by the main event, the Evesham 30k/ 20k/ 10K (or alternative distance for younger skaters). Skaters are split into age categories and are welcome to only skate in the endurance race if they wish. There are no expectations here; whether your aim is to win the road series, prove that you’re simply the best, raise money for a beloved charity, or challenge yourself and socialise with other skaters, this is an event for everyone. The 20k is a rarely run distance, providing the potential for the setting of some new British records. This year there will be some great music to accompany your skating and help you muster up the energy for those last few miles.

All age groups will have the opportunity to skate the 100m sprint. The FISS age categories and their associated distances for the endurance race along with the event schedule, track layouts for the different races and important information can be found in the links below:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Race times will be determined by an electronic chip timing system. A digital certificate featuring the finish time for the endurance race will be issued to all participants via email. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to skaters who finish first, second and third in each age category for the 100m sprint and the endurance race. All other skaters will receive a finishers medal for the endurance race.

Some age groups have the option to skate a shorter distance in place of the main distance for their age group. Please refer to the race list for more information. Please note that gold, silver and bronze will not be handed out for these alternative distance, however a finishers medal and certificate will still be provided. Please note that there will be a processing time for the certificates and they will be issued after the event.

Time Limit

There will be a time limit of approximately 2 hours for the adult endurance race.

Road Series Points

This is the second opportunity to earn points towards road series winner (endurance races) and the 100m series winner. Points will be awarded to those who participate in the 100m. Separate points are allocated to those who finish the full endurance races (mini 3k, pupil 5k, cadet 10k, and youth/juniors/adults 30k) which can be accumulated across the road races. Road races can either be entered as a standalone event or to gain points across the series. For more information on Road Race points and how these are calculated, please click here.

Minis will skate separately for their distance race. Pupils and Cadets will complete their race together on the full circuit. Youth (15 – 16 years), junior (17 – 18 years) and all adults will complete their events together after the Children’s presentations.

Registration closes at midnight on 1 June 2025. There is no late or on the day entry for this event.
