Record claims are automatically submitted by the Records officer ONLY where it is a FISS hosted event; for any other events, including affiliated Club or international events it is the responsibility of the parents/skater or Club to submit a claim to the FISS Records Officer. Where the skater has attended an international event as part of the Team GB Inline Speed Skating Development Squad or the full GB Squad, the GB management team will submit the record claim on the skater’s behalf, but this is only where they have specifically attended in that capacity. Any other records must be claimed following the below process. In order to claim a British Record:

  • You must be a full Member of FISS (the Federation of Inline Speed Skating);
  • The event must be sanctioned by FISS or a recognised bona fide international federation/governing body;
  • The distance being claimed must be a full distance and will only be accepted for the distance completed (i.e. no part distances will be accepted)
  • Distances of 1000m or below must be electronically timed.

Records must be claimed by completing the Record Claim Form in its entirety and submitting it to the FISS Records Officer at recordclaims@inlinespeed.co.uk  along with evidence of the time set, eg a screenshot of the results or a link to the official results. The record must be claimed within 28 days, which for the avoidance of doubt is deemed to have commenced from the first day after the conclusion of the event, eg. if the event concludes on the 20th May, then the following day, 21st May, is considered to be day one of the 28 day period.

Once the time and record have been ratified, the British Records will be updated accordingly to reflect the achievement.
