GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. The venue is available from 9AM.
  2. There is no dedicated parking for this venue. The limited parking spots are reserved for organisers/officials. On road parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the venue.
  3. This year, at approximately 15/20 minutes prior to commencement of the racing, there will be a simple starting ceremony. Each of the teams (participating skaters and perhaps coaches) will be invited onto the track with an announcement (and music) to complete a rolling lap 15 minutes prior to the first race on the first day of the championships (Saturday). The expectation is for clubs to wear their team kit, ie club tshirts etc, however a skinsuit will suffice if this is not possible. Clubs may bring their Club flag if they have one, and have flag bearers. Independent skaters will be called as “independent skaters”. Once this has taken place, the 2025 Championships will be declared “Open”. The clubs should start their presentation lap at the relay entry point (the hardstanding area near the bench on the approach to the exit/bathrooms). The order of the procession laps is as follows:
    • Birmingham Wheels Roller Speed club
    • East Midlands Racing
    • Essex Skating Club
    • Herts Roller Speed Team
    • Londonskaters Speed team
    • Midlands Roller Speed Club
    • North London Roller Speed Club
    • Wisbech Inline Speed Skating
    • Independent skaters
  4. Skaters MUST be available to race at 10 AM/when they are called. Any skater who has not arrived or on the start line when their race starts will miss their opportunity to race.
  5. The event schedule may be altered on the day at the discretion of the officials and FISS event management.
  6. Electronic live timing will be in place, and live timing will be available. A link will be provided in the usual way via social media and WhatsApp.
  7. There will be a vendor serving tea, barista-style coffee, other drinks and refreshments and light bites on site.
  8. Food and drink are restricted to spectator areas only.
  9. The WhatsApp channel will be used to provide updates on heats and announcements.
  10. Respect the facilities – Please respect the venue; leave the venue in the same state in which you find it. The toilets at Tatem Park are cleaned prior to events and are fully functional. There is a known issue with low water pressure during times of high volume usage; you may need to allow the toilets several minutes to fill back up with water before using them. It is not in any way acceptable to abuse them; misuse of the bathrooms makes for an unpleasant experience for everyone. The toilets during an event will be inspected every 30 minutes, to ensure any issues are dealt with swiftly, prevent the situation degrading to the same level as last time, and to report in any major issues. If there is an issue, this may require the toilets to be closed temporarily for a short while to be dealt with. Small bins for any items which can not be flushed and for sanitary products will be available in the bathrooms. Please use them accordingly. If there is an issue, eg toilet not flushing etc, please notify those running the event, rather than leaving it; it cannot be resolved if organisers are not aware.
  11. Rubbish – a large volume of litter left behind around the site has been a longstanding issue at this venue. Please can clubs/parents bring a black bag with them into which they can place their rubbish and dispose of this at a suitable place. There will be further black bags available; please request one if you require one.
  12. If we can all do our bit and follow the basic principles above, the event will be much better and more pleasant for us all (and far less stressful for those who have to clean up afterwards).
