3 LAP SLALOM

This is a 3 lap race including a slalom on the opposite straight to the finish line

2,000M POINTS

After the initial 2/3 laps of the race, every race is a points lap where skaters earn points by crossing the line first. First across the line gains 2 points, second gains 1. On the final lap of the race, the skater to cross the finish first is awarded 3 points, second is awarded 2 points, and third place gains 1 point.

POINTS/ELIMINATION RACES

Combined points and elimination races. After the initial laps (dictated by the number of entries), on alternating laps, points and eliminations take place (both on the same lap). For points, the first skater across the line gains 2 points, the second skater gains 1 point. For eliminations, the skater last over the line is eliminated. The determination of the elimination is based on the last point of the last skate to cross the finish line. Skaters are eliminated until 4 remain. On the final lap of the race, the skater to cross the finish first is awarded 3 points, second is awarded 2 points, and third place gains 1 point. Although these races combine several categories, categories will be classified separately.

INTERCATEGORY KNOCKOUT

A 2 lap handicap race with a staggered start according to the category of the skater. Skaters are selected at random. Lower categories are given a calculated advantage over skaters in a higher category. For example, a skater in category 6 who is pitted against a category 2 skater will start the race ahead at a position with a set advantage. This event may feature three skaters on track rather than two, dependent on entries.
