With explosive starts, rapid acceleration and races often decided by fractions of a second, the 100m delivers some of the most exciting action of the day and provides an excellent showcase of pure speed and power. All age groups contest this format.

MINI, PUPIL AND CADET NEW FORMAT

A refreshed race format will be introduced for the first time at this event, designed to enhance variety, development and racing experience for younger skaters.

Mini, Pupil and Cadet categories will take part in a series of shorter races in addition to their endurance event as follows:

  • 500m Point-to-Point: No ovals here — this fast-paced 500m point-to-point race makes full use of Evesham’s unique circuit layout. Starting from a designated point on the course, skaters will race flat-out to the main finish line in a high-speed sprint. The course layout is shown below. The starting point may not match the below exactly as this will be measured accurately prior to racing

  • 2-Lap Ribbon Circuit: A two-lap race around the elongated lower loop (“ribbon”) section of the circuit, located directly in front of the main spectator area. Featuring sweeping corners, high-speed sections and a finish at the main line, this format is designed to deliver exciting, close racing and plenty of action for both skaters and spectators.
  • Endurance Races 1.5k (Mini), 3k (Pupil) and 5k (Cadet)– The endurance races will take place on the full Evesham circuit, using the same dynamic course configuration contested by the Youth, Junior and Senior/Master categories. The circuit provides an exciting and rewarding challenge for developing skaters as they experience the full road race format.
