Wisbech Inline Speed Skating Club makes club history on Sunday 21st June with its first ever outdoor race event, bringing a full day of speed skating action to Tatem Park, London.
The WISS Race marks an exciting milestone for the club and promises a full day of fast-paced racing, featuring sprint, middle-distance, points and elimination races for skaters of all abilities. Whether you’re competing for category honours, chasing a personal best, or taking part in your first-ever event, the day offers something for everyone.
The event also serves as the final track race on the Federation calendar before the British Track Championships, making it an ideal opportunity for skaters to fine-tune their race craft, test their form, and gain valuable competitive experience ahead of the sport’s premier national track event.
The Federation’s electronic timing system will be in operation throughout the event, providing live provisional results direct to your device as the racing unfolds.
Medals earned at this event will be added to the clubs medal tally for the overall 2025/26 season (not to be confused with the Championship medal table); seize this opportunity to earn further glory for your Club.
With category racing, age-group competitions and novice events all on the programme, skaters can look forward to a friendly atmosphere combined with plenty of competitive action on track.

Categories
Skaters are placed into categories according to their ability, with the exception of the age races where national age groups apply. For the very youngest skaters and those entirely new to the sport, there is a novice category. For those adult skaters who do not meet the speed requirements of the faster categories, but feel uncomfortable competing against children, Category 2A is the place for you. For more on how categories work, please click here.
For the category races, skaters earn points according to their finishing position in each race. The winner gains 1 point, second place 2 points, and so forth. At the end of the race meeting the skater with the least points across the category races is the winner of their category.
