The Stourport Road Race is the first event of the FISS Road Race Series (RRS), held at Stourport Sports Club in Strouport-On-Severn.

Open to all skaters, including non-FISS Members and recreational/quad skaters, the event consists of two supporting races, a 100m sprint and a one lap time trial of the circuit, followed by the main event, the Stourport Marathon/ half marathon/ 10K (or alternative distance for younger skaters). Skaters are split into age categories and encouraged but not expected to participate in all three races, and are welcome to only skate in the longer race if they wish to do so.

All age groups will have the opportunity to skate the 100m sprint and one lap time trial. The FISS age categories and their associated distances for the endurance race are as follows:

Race times will be determined by an electronic chip timing system. A digital certificate featuring the finish time for the endurance race will be issued to all participants via email. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to skaters who finish first, second and third in each age category for the 100m sprint, the one lap time trial and the endurance race as separate standalone races. All other skaters will receive a finishers medal for the endurance race.

Please note that there will be a processing time for the certificates and they will be issued after the event.

Skaters in the Cadet (13- 14 years) and Youth (15 – 16 years) age groups have the option to participate in a 10k in place of the main distance for their age group. Please note that gold, silver and bronze will not be handed out for the 10k, however a finishers medal and certificate will still be provided.

There will be a time limit of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes for the adult endurance race. Those aged 17 years and over who may feel that they would be unable to complete the full distance in this time are welcome to enter a half marathon distance (21k) or a 10k distance instead. Please note that gold, silver and bronze will not be awarded for the half marathon or 10k, however a finishers medal and certificate will still be provided.

This is the first opportunity to earn points towards road series winner (endurance races) and the 100m series winner. Points will be awarded to those who participate in the 100m. Separate points are allocated to those who finish the full endurance races (mini 3k, pupil 5k, cadet 15k, youth half marathon and juniors/adults full marathon) which can be accumulated across the road races. Road races can either be entered as a standalone event or to gain points across the series. For more information on Road Race points and how these are calculated, please click here.

Minis and pupils will complete their races on track at the same time, and will use a smaller section of the circuit. Cadets and Youth will complete their races together on the full circuit. Junior (17 – 18 years) and all adults will complete their events together after the Children’s presentations.
