The second track race of the 2024/25 is hosted by Midlands Roller Speed Club, hot on the heels of their first ever, (and very well received) outdoor event in September 2024. Based at the same venue, Leicester Cycle Circuit, this time utilising only the 328m bottom loop of the track and featuring a brand new race format, the Speed Rush, where skaters have the chance to set the fastest single lap time around the loop in a five minute time period; the fastest time, wins. The remaining races are a mix of traditional laps of the track, points races and the MRSC Elimination (a standard elimination race). FISS’ electronic timing will enables real-time tracking and accurate results straight to your screen.
This event is suitable for new and experienced skaters alike, with skaters placed into categories according to their ability. For the very youngest skaters and those entirely new to the sport, there is a novice category. For those adult skaters who do not meet the speed requirements of the faster categories, but feel uncomfortable competing against children, Category 2A is the place for you.
For the category races, skaters earn points according to their finishing position in each race. The winner gains 1 point, second place 2 points, and so forth. At the end of the race meeting the skater with the least points across the category races is the winner of their category. The list of races and distances can be found below here:
Races may be increased or decreased as required if necessary in order to accommodate time constraints.
Venue and registration opens at 08:45AM with registration, with racing commencing at 09:30AM.
Registration closes at midnight on 18th May 2025. There will be no late or on the day registration for this event, with the exception of novices who may enter online or on the day; we would however encourage them to enter online wherever possible.
