Essex Skating Club are hosting their very first indoor race at their fantastic venue, Rollerworld, Colchester on Sunday 6th November. Doors open at 7am with racing commencing at 8am and medal ceremony at 11.45am.
Essex will be keeping it simple with their race programme, with the ever popular Dobbin Sprint returning.
Races are as follows:
Categories 1 & 2: Dobbin sprint; 5 laps; 15 laps.
Categories 3 & 4: Dobbin sprint, 5 laps and 10 laps.
Category 5: Dobbin sprint, 5 laps and 8 laps.
Categories 6 and 7: Dobbin sprint, 3 laps and 5 laps.
Mixed category Race: Mixed Category Knockout Relay
An indoor version of the Mixed Category Knockout relay which was a hit at ESC’s debut race at Tatem Park, has now been added to the race schedule.
There will be medals for each individual race instead of an overall category medal.
Skaters are split into categories determined by their ability as is traditional for Club level events. Novice skaters (those new to the sport/racing and young children) are welcome and there will be a set of three races aimed at this beginner level.
Entry includes an optional social training session on the evening of Saturday 5th November between 5pm – 7pm for those who have entered the main event on the 6th.
Entry cost of one spectator per entry is included. Rollerworld will charge a nominal spectator fee of £2 for additional spectators which will be paid on the door. Please indicate on the entry form whether you will be attending the Saturday night session and a provide an estimate of the number of spectators you will be bringing.
Please note that the venue Rollerworld will look to video and livestream the events where possible and potentially have the ability to show the screening on multi view screens within the venue.
Entries close on 30th October at Midnight. There will be no late or on the day entry for this event, with the exception of Novice skaters, who can now also register online.
