There is an age limit of 13 (Cadet and above) for this event. These younger skaters will be required to skate as part of larger teams of 5 or more, including two skaters of youth (15 – 16 years) age or above. Youth skaters (15 – 16 years of age) will need to participate as part of a team of four or more (or three if a team member is unable to participate on the day).
This year, the Federation is delighted to offer a new Assisted Wheelchair category for the first time ever. Entry is for one wheelchair user and two or three “pushers” on skates, who will swap over skating duties in relay throughout the course of the race. Changeovers must be made in the “relay zone” only, safely, and must not impede other skaters. The wheelchair user of the winning team will receive a gold medal, with the pushers receiving finishers medals as they will not have completed the full distance. The teams will be invited to take their place on/in front of the podium. The same procedure will be followed for second and third placed teams. As this is the first time this category has been included, the processes for it will be refined over time. More information will be provided in the conditions of contest and important information in due course.
COST OF ENTRY
- Solo – £40
- Duo – £60
