- Each team will be allocated two timing chips (transponders) one for solo skaters). It is the responsibility of the team to ensure that the chips are given to the skaters who will be entering the track. If a skater is not wearing a chip this will not result in disqualification however this will mean that those laps will not be counted.
- Please do not step over or near the finish line whilst wearing a transponder. For teams, transponders can be left with the team. For solos and duos, chips may remain on the ankle but please do not approach or cross the start/finish line.
- Active skaters will complete their laps with a baton.
- A changeover takes place by handing a baton to your team mate. If the baton is dropped the receiving skater must go back and pick up the baton; you must not cross the start/finish line without one. Please ensure you take care when doing so.
- Changeovers will take place on the finishing straight from/next to the entry to the track. Skaters should enter the track from the entry gate only in order to changeover.
- For teams of more than one skaters, the baton must be carried by the team for the entire race. Teams skating without a baton will be disqualified.
- Changeovers made outside of the changeover zone will result in disqualification. Once the changeover has taken place, the skater who has handed over should use the gate after the timing booth to exit the track.
- Skaters can only enter and exit the race course in the changeover zone. Should a skater enter or exit the track at any other point on the circuit this will result in disqualification. The only exception to this is where a skater leaves the circuit during a crash, and they should rejoin the track where they left it.
- Skaters on track are not permitted to receive outside help. This includes provision of tools or equipment to make repairs, food or drink. Skaters must finish their lap/laps with the same equipment as they started with.
- Skaters will be unable to use earbuds or headphones. The primary reason for this is safety; skaters need to be able to hear announcements and instructions and also be aware of where other skaters are on track; there is also the potential for earbuds or headphones to fall onto the track, whereby they become a hazard.
- Skaters must not discard energy food packaging, drinks bottles or other equipment onto the track.
