Wisbech Inline Speed Skating Club host their second event of the 2025/26 season at Skaters Walpole Highway, a purpose built skating venue in Wisbech, on 7th February 2026.
With new format the keirin (originally introduced for the very first time by Birmingham Wheels last season), fun favourite contraire (opposite direction) and elimination formats all on offer, alongside the welcome return of Wisbech’s trademark mass start races, the McInerney and Dogget Awards, this is an exciting start to racing in 2026. The Federation’s electronic timing enables the action to be followed live as it happens, so you never miss a moment.
This event is suitable for new and experienced skaters alike, with skaters placed into categories according to their ability. For the very youngest skaters and those entirely new to the sport, there is a novice category. For those adult skaters who do not meet the speed requirements of the faster categories, but feel uncomfortable competing against children, Category 2A is the place for you. For more on how categories work, please click here.
For the category races, skaters earn points according to their finishing position in each race. The winner gains 1 point, second place 2 points, and so forth. At the end of the race meeting the skater with the least points across the category races is the winner of their category.
Registration closes on 1st February 2026 at midnight. There will be no late or on the day registration with the exception of novice skaters, who we would encourage to enter online wherever possible.
