TIME LIMIT
There will be a time limit of approximately 3 hours for the marathon marathon/half marathon/10k endurance race.
MEDAL DISTANCES
In line with the entry options above, gold, silver and bronze road race medals and/or Championship medals (as applicable) will be awarded to skaters who finish first, second and third in each age category for the Main distances (identified above with a (C)* or (R)*). All skaters who finish outside of the top three positions will receive a finishers medal for the endurance race.
Skaters who may feel that they would be unable to complete the full distance in this time are welcome to enter a shorter alternative distance (5k or 10k for children, half marathon or a 10k for adults) instead. Please note that gold, silver and bronze will not be handed out for these distances, however a finishers medal and certificate will still be provided.
ASSISTED WHEELCHAIR CATEGORY
The Federation is delighted to offer a new Assisted Wheelchair category for the first time ever, as part of the Road Race only at this stage. Entry is for one wheelchair user and several “pushers” on skates, who will swap over skating duties in relay throughout the course of the race. Changeovers must be made in the “relay zone” only, safely, and must not impede other skaters. The wheelchair user of the winning team will receive a gold road race medal, the second placed team a silver, and the third a bronze, with the pushers receiving finishers medals as they will not have completed the full distance. The teams will be invited to take their place on/in front of the podium. The same procedure will be followed for second and third placed teams. As this is the first time this category has been included, the processes for it will be refined over time.
