FEDERATION MEMBERS/BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRY

Eligible FISS Member entrants will be competing for the title of British Champion in their age groups in addition to the road race; these skaters must be a Member of the Federation or a World Skate recognised federation to take part in the National Championship. Skaters who are not British may enter, however, to be crowned British Champion, they must be the holder of a British Passport and/or have resided in the UK for two or more years. Any skaters who do not meet this nationality criteria, but are Members of FISS or another recognised Federation, are permitted to race and will receive recognition of their achievement on the podium if they place in the top three positions, however cannot claim the title of British Champion. These skaters will receive an alternative National medal of equal quality.

OPEN (NON-MEMBERS/NON CHAMPIONSHIP) ENTRY

Open entry is for those skaters who are not a Member of the Federation or other internationally recognised Federation who will not be competing for the British Championship, however are more than welcome to skate and are eligible to place in their category for the road race result. If an open skater places in the top three positions in their category, the podium will be presented for the race result and they will receive a Road Race medal (more on the podium presentations and how this will work below).

PODIUMS

Two different podiums will be presented at this event: one for the British Championship and one for the Road Race result. The British Championship podiums will be presented as per the FISS Members/British Championship Entry section above.

For the Road Race (race result) podium, if this is different to the Championship result, skaters who finish in first, second and third positions in their category will be called onto the podium and presented with the Road Race medals, irrespective of whether they are a FISS Member or an Open skater. If the Road Race result is the same as the Championship result, then both Road Race and National medals will be presented to these skaters.

All skaters who finish their endurance race, irrespective of entry type, will receive a white road race finishers medal.
